Gay Marriage

Gay marriage has caused a lot of controversy within the last couple of years. Gays and lesbians all over the country are more than ever trying to get the same rights to be married as heterosexuals have. Gays and lesbians are fighting hard to get heterosexuals to see their point of view and agree that it’s unfair to them that they aren’t being recognized as equal. So, what is the real problem with gay marriage as some see it?

Religious reasons plays a large majority as to why people disagree with gay marriage. Even some gays disagree with gay marriage. I believe most of the gays that disagree with gay marriage are the ones that are afraid to be judged or seen by there heterosexual peers living the gay lifestyle. People should be able to live and not be treated unfairly because of the lifestyle they choose to live.

Some may argue that in God’s image men and women are to become one for the sake of reproduction but not for the purpose of just sexing each other. Well, there are some heterosexual married couples that can’t reproduce and some that just wish not to reproduce. All men and women were made in God’s image gay or straight because you can’t change the fact that a gay man or woman is attracted to the same sex, that is something that can’t be disputed. An attraction isn’t something you embed in yourself it just comes natural. One argument I have heard over and over again is that it’s a sin for men to lay with men, well it is a sin for anybody to lay with another person when they aren’t married. The bible never speaks about it being a sin for men to lay with men when married.

Gay marriage should be legalized because it should be each individuals choice as to whether they want to be as one in marriage. They shouldn’t be judged by who they love and what they didn’t choose to be born with which is love and attraction towards the same sex.
